In between creating my sculptural artworks I have also been recently making some mugs. I am a big coffee fan so I made these in response to my addiction.

I wanted to try something a bit more different so have reconnected my inspiration to some of the work I did in the past, (see image 2 and image 3).

With these new mugs in the making I am still working with geometric form and colour to enhance the inside and outside space. Perhaps its a Meticulous and Spontaneous way of working.

My Cereal Bowls

Just recently finished two new bowls. I'm a big cereal fan so I thought these would be perfect for me to use for breakfast.

Creating these bowls made me think of ways to transfer my ideas from my artworks into functional items. Just like the artwork I would like to create something serial, something that can let the mind escape, just like listening to music it can take you away from reality.

Hopefully I can continue to investigate new ways to continue making functional items as I do enjoy it.

Developing a functional range to respond to my ceramic Sculptural Artworks

Today I have been working on developing ideas to do with my functional ceramics. The idea is to create something that can have a direct relationship to my sculptural ceramic artworks through aspects such as simplicity of form and colour.

Previously I had tried cups and this is something I would still like to develop but for today I thought I would try making noodle bowls and vegetable dishes. When considering what new forms to try out I thought about the types of food I really enjoy eating and as I do not eat meat I thought about making items that responds to these two types of food for now.

They are still in the developing stages and need to be completed. Hopefully I will post the results when they are finished.
