Ways of Seeing, Hours Space, Bristol, UK, 5/1/18-29/1/18

Ceramic sculptures that were on display: Climatic Distortion, Bubble, Back to Front, Lagoon, Composing Contrast.

This exhibition was helped made possible by the owners of Hours Space Sophie Howard & Nigel Shipley, as well as all the artists who took part.

It was an interesting ehxibitition as we had the opportunity to curate it ourself so this allowed for a lot of flexibility for the display of artworks. We also wanted to have a mix of different artworks and so this included calligraphy, painting, ceramic tableware, ceramic art and digital art. It wag good seeing it all come together as this created a diverse combination of artworks.

As for the title Ways of Seeing we hope this was reflected in the work on show. It was our mission to present artworks that would come together to actively encourage new ways of engaging with the audience through diverse forms and colours to generate curiosity.

If you would like to see a short video of this exhibition please see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DODwVKzdCuk&t=2s

Tomorrow will be my last day in the capital Ljubljana, Slovenia. I have really enjoyed my time here and the opportunity to see my work on displayed at the Museum.

The organizers of the show did a great job, they really worked hard to put it together. I am very thankful for them giving me the opportunity to show my ceramic artwork in Slovenia. It was great to see the work displayed alongside a diverse range of ceramic artworks from makers across the globe. The show also opened my eyes to other artistic possibilities as the pieces on display were very unique and different.

Alongside this exhibition there was also other ceramic events that took place as part of the  International Triennial of Ceramics UNICUM 2015. There was a ceramic exhibition in the older building of the National Museum of Slovenia, this showcased a range of traditional porcelain European ceramics.

On a additional note thank you very much to Zora Zbontar for helping me with the small details of the event such as responding to my emails and booking taxi's.

CGP London 30th Annual Open Exhibition 2014, private view pictures

It has been some time now since the end of the 2014 CGP London 30th Annual Open Exhibition, although I thought I would upload some of the photos taken from that event.

I was really pleased and thankful to get the opportunity to display my work in London and I particularly liked the exhibition's approach to submitting work as there was no selection process involved. This made for an away of diverse artworks all very unique and in some ways difficult to relate to any kind of style.

As you can probably imagine the show was crammed full of artworks and this created an engaging experience but on the other hand artworks did not have their own space to breathe and so it did feel a bit cluttered. This was defiantly noticeable in terms of the artworks such as mine sitting on the stands, for me personally I think these 3d objects needed more space as each piece was obstructing each other and making it difficult to fully view and appreciate the works.

Other than that it was a memorable show, thank you CGP London.

Contemporary Art & Design Fair at the Candid Arts Trust

The Fair is now finished and and all the artworks have been put back in their boxes ready to be collected tomorrow and taken back to Bristol.

Sadly I did not sell anything but on the other hand a lot of people really appreciated the work but perhaps not the price. This weekend defiantly got me thinking about aspects to do with value, all I can do is learn from experiences.

Thank you everyone for coming and my wife for helping me.

This show provided a good opportunity to display my work in a different space in Bath and it was positive hearing the viewers response form looking at the artwork.

People perceived it in many different ways and it seemed to have provided a unique experience. It was nice to here people associate my work to their memories or their feelings. Topics ranged from traditional Japanese Painting, spiritual presence and spaces, clouds and industry.

I realised from this that art has the potential to evoke people's memories and feelings in deep and meaningful ways. Everyone sees it in a way that is personal to them and it seems to make them feel happy as they can relate to it. I realised art has the power to engage and influence and perhaps bring positivity to the world around us in multiple ways. It goes beyond about just being a physical product as it awakens multiple mental and sensory experiences.

Thank you for everyone who came to see the work, I really appreciate it.
